In today’s modern world, with the rise of technology and the internet, memes have become a quintessential element in the realm of politics. The humoristic value of the meme permits individuals to criticize and express their opinions on certain political aspects. In my visual art, one can see a person creating a meme. One can see through the window that he is located in Lebanon through the building of Électricité Du Liban that isn’t fully lit which is ironic as there is electricity written on the top of it. This visual work aims to tackle the question of how do memes draw attention to heart-rendering cultural and political themes. One can see on the man’s window and screen famous meme formats. On the screen one can read a quote of “LEBANON, make sure you save your school project before 6:00 pm (which is when the electricity usually cuts off).
